Kia Sedona: More Than a Minivan

Posted on

The Kia Sedona has been named Best New Car Design at the 2014 New York Auto Show. Kia has redesigned the Sedona from every angle to give you luxury in every row. The Sedona is unexpected personality—a combination of maximized legroom and luxury amenities in every row. The expansive front row features a class-exclusive center console for ample storage. Easy third-row access makes loading in easy, while available second-row heated seats and multiple power outlets take comfort to a new level.

Kia has modified the Sedona both inside and out, giving it Kia’s signature tiger nose grille, Zenon HID headlamps, and small overhangs front and rear. The slide-n-stow seating in the second and third row opens up the Sedona as a cargo hauler. Due to its 142 cubic feet of interior space, the Sedona goes from passenger to cargo with a few quick flips of well-marked straps.

The minivans power comes from a 3.3-liter gas direct injected V6 rated at 276 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft of torque. But whats power without safety? The Sedona standard safety features include electronic stability control, traction control system, brake assist system, hill-start assist control, electronic brake force distribution, and anti-lock braking system. Additional technologies such as roll over mitigation and cornering brake control were added as standard equipment for improved dynamic control and safety.

The Sedona starts at a surprising $25,900, which makes the 2015 Kia Sedona an affordable yet stylish minivan. It drives the best among the front-wheel-drive minivans on the market and is a strong force in the crossover utility vehicle market.
